At that time the elected government was offered with great powers for the country but it did not include the law and order. The law and order remained with the central government only. The legislation came into enforcement in 1993.

At present New Delhi is the capital of India. It sprawled on the west bank of Yamuna River and it is considered as one of the fastest growing city in India. It is surrounded by Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. It is shown in history that Delhi is the city which was seen to be great in terms of political importance.
